What to do to my Black Boots

I recently bought some boots off trademe for only $2 (but I had to pay $7 for postage which was annoying). When they arrived I was suproised to see they were possibly the uggliest boots I had ever seen the combination off them being a size 10 with a looong flat square toe was quite disgusting. I didn't want to waste my money and thought that anything would be better than what they are now so I got creative....... I cut off the top off the shoe to make them into open toe boots then I cut the sole to make them the right size hehe and a nicer round shape. The result was a rather hacked at looking shoe that didn't look very well done at all but they did look better. So now I'm rather stuck as to what to do next should I paint them, attach buckles, do cutouts or add material patches. I really can't decide and really want to do them all I will do some more reearch for minspiration but at the moment I think cutouts are winning but they seem a bit boring....

Sheer Navy

Before ewwww

After ooooooh

What I'm Wearing:

Dress: Op Shop altered
Shoes: Rose's boots
Vest: made by me
Brooch: bought from Great Barrier Island
Belt: Op Shop

This is the dress I bought ages ago and said I would upload some photos of and never did. Well here they are but unfortuantely I couldn't get the before photos off the camera they are forever trapped within it, annoying I know! So here it is and what do you know you can't really see it properly haha typical! The underneath layer is sheer and awesome and there is also the line at the top where the top layer disappears and its only the sheer layer left haha I made that sound waaay more confusing than it really is.
I uploaded the photo and isn't the transformation great!

One Peace At A Time

Some time last week I went to a fundraiser for Haiti event, it was a movie One Peace at a Time. The movie was so amazing and just made me realise how ignorant I am to the rest of the world. I came out of the movie feeling like a changed person only to realise one week later that i had forgot about all the important life changes i was going to make. Whilst watching the movie I kept changing my mind I would see all the poor unfortunate orphans in developing countries and think I am going to help them, I will sponsor a child. Then the movie would go on to people giving water wells to villages in dry deserted landscapes where the women previously had to walk hours to get water and now they only had to walk a couple of minutes. The girls could now go to school and learn at the new schools they were creating. Which made me think I'll give money to that cause as it is helping a whole community not just one person. Then it went to how you can't stop the problem of overflowing orphanages by simply sponsoring the children they need more orphange workers. Which made me feel really self centered for wanting to have a fun life and just do what i wanted jobwise when there was so many more valuable jobs i could be doing. Overall it just made me feel really spoilt, greedy, and lucky. You have no choice where you are born, all you can do is make the most out of what you are given, we were gifted with these priveleged lives why would we not sacrifice a small part of our income or time to help those less fortunate?

Op Shopping!!

Today as I do every other Wednesday I rocked on down to the op shop to buy my weekly purchases of goods. Every week Im expecting to find nothing and am pleasantly suprised to always walk out the door having spent my weeks wages ($20 hehe). Today I found a denim like dress that looks really great backwards sounds odd but trust me its coolnesss, a long blue dress with daises or some flower anyway on it that is similar to my sunflower dress but it ties at the waist ( it will need to be shortened), a bag made out of sort of weaved waterial not sure what its called but it has four compartments yus bonus!, a makeup bag that i have been seeing on a regular basis every week i go but only today realised what it actually was (its really bright floral pattern), some tan/cream colour heels that have a flower cut-out design on them, a blue belt with a brown leather buckle thats a bit hard to explain, and a necklace that is a thin slice of a midget tree trunk or something its very cute and its on a leather string. Phew so thats what I got and the lady only charged me $11 yay and i was really nervous when she was calculating because she was way over charging me then out of no-where she dropped $10 so in all a good day for me! oh yeah I also bought some magazines with my book vouchers hehe

Nest Headpiece

What Im Wearing:
Colourful blotchy top: Op shopped
Black skirt: Gift from Katherine
Black shoes: Rose's
Cardigan: Op shopped
Brown bag: Rose's

Whilst I was mowing the lawns on Saturday I almost ran over this nest. It was lying on the ground in front of me and luckily I bent down and picked it up because its very cool and looks rather nice on my head hehe. I poked a bobby pin through the bottom which worked just fine for my photos but it appeared to be a one time use head piece as the bits of straw are falling out and I was constantly freaking out that there would be a colony of spiders living in it so it may just end up being a basket in my room filled with plastic birdies of course haha. I decided to wear it with this cardigan because it reminds me of a crazy lady that feed birds breadcrumbs by the pond and also goldilocks but thats irrelevant. The rest of the outfit just happened and i also just wanted to wear the top because it was new, well to me anyway. oh and the cute little old cat thats coco shes got good taste!
