Op Shopping!!

Today as I do every other Wednesday I rocked on down to the op shop to buy my weekly purchases of goods. Every week Im expecting to find nothing and am pleasantly suprised to always walk out the door having spent my weeks wages ($20 hehe). Today I found a denim like dress that looks really great backwards sounds odd but trust me its coolnesss, a long blue dress with daises or some flower anyway on it that is similar to my sunflower dress but it ties at the waist ( it will need to be shortened), a bag made out of sort of weaved waterial not sure what its called but it has four compartments yus bonus!, a makeup bag that i have been seeing on a regular basis every week i go but only today realised what it actually was (its really bright floral pattern), some tan/cream colour heels that have a flower cut-out design on them, a blue belt with a brown leather buckle thats a bit hard to explain, and a necklace that is a thin slice of a midget tree trunk or something its very cute and its on a leather string. Phew so thats what I got and the lady only charged me $11 yay and i was really nervous when she was calculating because she was way over charging me then out of no-where she dropped $10 so in all a good day for me! oh yeah I also bought some magazines with my book vouchers hehe

Nest Headpiece

What Im Wearing:
Colourful blotchy top: Op shopped
Black skirt: Gift from Katherine
Black shoes: Rose's
Cardigan: Op shopped
Brown bag: Rose's

Whilst I was mowing the lawns on Saturday I almost ran over this nest. It was lying on the ground in front of me and luckily I bent down and picked it up because its very cool and looks rather nice on my head hehe. I poked a bobby pin through the bottom which worked just fine for my photos but it appeared to be a one time use head piece as the bits of straw are falling out and I was constantly freaking out that there would be a colony of spiders living in it so it may just end up being a basket in my room filled with plastic birdies of course haha. I decided to wear it with this cardigan because it reminds me of a crazy lady that feed birds breadcrumbs by the pond and also goldilocks but thats irrelevant. The rest of the outfit just happened and i also just wanted to wear the top because it was new, well to me anyway. oh and the cute little old cat thats coco shes got good taste!

hazey daze

What im wearing
Dress: Op shop altered
Shoes: Gift from Rose
Brooches: Op shop, made by me, Trademe
Belt: Rose's
Sunglasses: The round ones I bought off Trademe
Bracelets: Gift from Alice , gift from Emily
Watering can: green dinosaur bought from the warehouse
photos taken by me on timer haha

The sun was shining and the cicadas singing and that just made me feel all summery inside! I recently bought this dress form the local op shop and it was awkward ankle grazing length so I chopped it only to realise when I tried it on that it was waaay to short ( I think I must have been leaning over when I made the snip) I was so horrified that I had ruined the dress that had so much potential! but then i had the awesome thought to make a frill around the bottom so with the cut off piece I cut it in half longways and gathered it. You can see the result perfect length and a nice touch to an otherwise basic dress I think. I wore this into town (Waiuku) to get an ice-cream and walk around in the sunshine eating it with emily who wore an equally cool outfit (a 60's yellow, orange and green plaid cut out dress).

floral dr martens!!!!

I have been dreaming about myself owning some floral dr martens for some time now and kinda thought it was a dream I would never forfill with floral goodness so imagine my complete and utter happiness when i stumbled upon the very same dr martens I have dreamt of owning and then realising that I could hold them and wear them on my ugly foot for only $67 so as you can imagine there was no hesitation in myself pressing the buy now button the only hesitation I had was in transferring the funds from savings to spending hehe but it will all be okay when they arrive in the mail and make my average life one of way over average awesomenes!!!!!!!!

Parcels of Goodness

sounds like im talking about food or maybe thats just my overactive food mind talking but no im talking about my trademe purchases finally arriving yess!! it felt like early christmas! and three parcels in one day super yess!!! i recieved my round sunglasses which are rather odd but i will wear them anyway not wasting $10 geez they sit kinda flat but anyway me and my sisters all tried them on and apparently they look the best on me so thats a good start and they are round so that equals instant awesome. I also recieved the drama head brooch, but the size which I either never read or it was never said is tiny which is a good thing in some cases but it was a suprise anyway (im wearing it now) and last but definitely not least my figurines arrived and they are perfect they are not too big not too small just perfect and they are so colourful and unique and intricate well as intricate as a piece of plastic can be anyway and they are going to be necklaces and brooches and not sure what else but I will be wearing them every time I go out from now on! two more parcels to arrive oooh cant wait!

Op Shop Alterations

After school i dont like to suit in fron tof the tv and waste half my day as the other half is already wasted by going to school so i like to be productive and make stuff. Today i decided to alter one of my op shop purchases it was a long (ankle grazing lenght) blue chiffon dress may sound rather horrid but ooh i saw the potential in that baby! All i did was make the dress shorter but i came across a problem the see through under dress that poked out the bottom was longer than the top layer so when i made it the appropiate length for a normal person you could see half my leg oh yeah there was a split too so if the wind was blowing in the right direction and i was standing in the right direction an awkward scene may have occured soo long story short i made a cool dress out of a shite one and im awesome and the dress i made totally looks like one of the erin fetherston ones i talked about the other day except its not tangerine or tea green its old lady blue oh yeah fiona said i smelt like old lady haha awesome!! maybe i should wash it some time soon.... photos will be added soon when i have time to take some
geez i can talk some shit!

रादिचूल ओउत्फित

Yes i speak hindi and yes this is my super coolio outfit. One day i had nothing to do and usually when i have nothing to do i dress up in my clothes and make superific outfits this involves dropping shit (handbags, belts, clothes, everything you can think of) all over my room and wandering around standing in front of family members so they comment on my outfits yes my life is awesome and forfilling sooooo one day i decided to take a photo of my super outfit but my stupid camera is poo and annoying and the battery will not charge so i have to spend money on buying a new battery with money that i could spend on other cool stuff :# (angry face) anyways soo i took a photo on mums camera and I pressured her into taking a photo of me but it was awkward because she would just point the camera at me and say weird things like work the camera so of course I went all shy and just stood there saying you tell me what to do, anyway back to the story that is why my photos are blurry and im pulling stupid faces and im not just really into it.
note to self: use timer next time.
and find a place to take photos where no one will see you without you noticing
oooh new zealands hottest home bakers on got to go...

Erin Fetherston fall 2010

As I was scrolling through the collections on coutorture I stumbled upon Erin Fetherstons Fall 2010 collection 'Chelsea Girl'. The collection included everything from dresses jackets to trousers in with a colour theme of black, white, lilac and tangerine with touches of metalic. My favourite theme was the longer than typical hem dresses that gave the collection a vintagey feel. The dresses came in tangerine, an adorable bird print , tea green, black and white and lilac. They accessorised them with fringe haircuts, boots, lace scarves and a stunning necklace altogether they were the perfect combination of casual and dressy. I cant decide whether I like the first look or the third better the high neck and sheer tangerine fabric is just sublime but that shimmery taupe blazer over the tea green dress is to die for! ooh cant decide not that i have enough money to buy it anyway lol

round and profound

mudd round sunglasses $22

Bottega Veneta patterned round frame sunglasses Net-A-Porter

topshop $30

topshop $30

theory round sunglasses $198
They were john lennons icon from the 80s bought to fame by rachel zoe they were thought to be a one season thing but they are still here and still being reinvented. Seen on the spring 09 runways of Ralph lauren, Proenza Schouler, lanvin and many more and on celebrities such as Lady Gaga, MK Olsen and Agness Deyn These are some of my favourites i especially love when theres some pattern on the frames but i think maybe the mudd ones are my favourite.
